Sticky, succulent spare ribs – the perfect finger food
Well known as a deep-south barbecue favourite or a sticky-fingered Chinese classic, organic spare ribs are a versatile cut packed with juicy flavour. Running from the shoulder of the carcass to the belly, pork ribs cut through lots of hard-working muscles and as a result have hearty and robust texture. At Coombe Farm Organic we supply our ribs in sheets, so you can decide if you want to cook them as a joint or chop them up into individual bones.
Our free-range, organic pigs are bred by crossing Gloucester Old Spot boars with Saddleback sows. We like the characteristics of these traditional breeds: with slow-growth they produce carcasses with a good, even distribution of muscle, fantastic internal marbling and a substantial layer of superficial fat. Lots of high-intensity commercial farming systems have moved away from native breeds because they want leaner meat but we think well-balanced fat on a pork carcass is important for keeping the meat juicy and adding distinctive flavour. Ribs are an excellent example of a cut that benefits from the marriage between substantial meat and an oozy layer of fat: whichever way you choose to cook them, they'll retain succulence.

At Coombe Farm we believe in sustainability. And we live it. Regarding our packaging:
Your delivery box is made of 100% recycled paper and is 100% recyclable.
To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.
We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.

Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.
You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

A whole sheet of ribs sizzling on the barbecue looks spectacular but couldn't be easier to cook. The secret is basting and turning. Slather your favourite barbecue sauce all over the joint, cook for a few minutes on the first side until just starting to brown, then turn and brown the other side. Baste, then turn again, repeating the process to build up a deliciously crisp crust of sauce without blackening it. It'll take about half an hour in total. Alternatively, cut your ribs into individual bones, cover in foil and oven cook them for a couple of hours in a sauce of chilli, soy, ginger and garlic. They'll be falling-off-the-bone tender.

Very nice slow cooked. Not sure 500g enough for 2 or 3 though. I ordered 5 x 500g for 6 people and there was very little left. There is obviously a lot of bone included. Would order again.Very nice slow cooked. Not sure 500g enough for 2 or 3 though. I ordered 5 x 500g for 6 people and there was very little left. There is obviously a lot of bone included. The ribs are amazing done in a slow cooker or on a low setting in the oven. The meat falls off the bone. 500g says it serves 2-3 but in my house it's 1 generous portion (500g includes the weight of the bones!) or might serve 2 if I've something...The ribs are amazing done in a slow cooker or on a low setting in the oven. the cottage pie lacked moister and flavour.
pork and rosemary burger lacked flavour.
we are two old people living in a flat and would prefer potions
of a bout 12 0z. for two people.
Please, we would like ready cooked meals.
I look forward to having, sometime in the future,
Kid meat, Turkey legs, and Goose Legs
Because of the "Lock In" my family was unable to visit
so the larger portions are still frozen - far too big for us- Sorry.
We are rather sorry that it seems necessary to waste so much packaging.
There is one word to describe Coombe Farm Organic and that is quality - quality of choice, quality of produce and quality of experience. I made a moussaka yesterday evening with some lamb mince, and it was so full of flavour - divine. Even though I am a single person, the fact that purchasing from Coombe Farm also enables me to purchase sustainably reared produce, support an independent business and also support British farming is just the icing on the cake. The way I buy my meat is forever changed and Coombe Farm Organic will always be my first choice.
Coombe Farm Organic chicken is literally the best chicken we've found since COVID, and we have not been disappointed. The flavor and texture are superior to anything we've ever tried.
Chicken arrived on time, boxed and packed well, frozen with additional freezer packs to ensure freshness.
This is a great alternative instead of making a trip out, the flavour and texture are superior, tastier and fresher than anything you could find at the supermarket
Highly recommended! And that’s saying something...something I never though I’d say.
