At Coombe Farm Organic we like to get a bit inventive, so we were very pleased when the inspiration for our mutton, rosemary and garlic burgers struck. The rich, mature flavour of our mutton shoulder is complemented by the sweet-floral scent of its old friend, rosemary, and a gentle background hum of garlic. It's an earthy, satisfying combination that works beautifully when cooked hot and fast, leaving it caramelised on the outside and succulent inside. Each patty is 140g, making this a full-on glute-free burger experience that'll take on even the fiercest of appetites.

Mutton is a meat that had a fairly serious fall from fashion and is only now making a comeback. Lambs are most usually slaughtered before they reach 12 months and produce meat that's tender and delicate. Mutton comes from older sheep, or, in some instances, from retired breeding ewes. The meat from these older animals has matured on the hoof meaning it has a greater depth of flavour and more robust texture. These combined characteristics make mutton an excellent meat for burgers – it holds together well, stays juicy and delivers punchy flavour every time.

**Although our burgers are made with natural, gluten-free ingredients they are made in our onsite butchery that handles nuts (including peanuts), seeds, cereals, soya and products containing gluten.

  • We deliver all around mainland Britain, excluding the Highlands and Islands. You will be able to choose your preferred delivery slot at checkout.

  • We can deliver to you Tuesday to Saturday.

    We will pick, pack and deliver your box the day you have requested.

    For every order, we'll send you a text message on the morning it is due to be delivered.

    Our courier will leave it in your requested safe place if you would prefer a contactless delivery.

  • We have a minimum order of £40. There is no minimum order value or delivery charge if you collect from our farm shop

  • Our Standard Delivery Charge is £3.95 (Tuesday to Friday). There is Free Delivery on Orders Over £90, Recieve your order Before 12 pm for £6.95. Saturday Delivery is £5.95

  • No. You can leave a message with your order telling us where you would like to have your box placed. It would be best placed somewhere cool or at least in the shade – especially during the hotter months of the year. Our products will stay at the same temperature for up to 40 hours, so just make sure that you can pick up your order within that time.

    Our couriers will send you a text message or email, which ever you prefer, giving you an hour slot when your box will arrive. If that doesn’t suit you, some options will be provided to make your delivery more convenient.

  • Our products will stay frozen at the same temperature for up to 40 hours. Simply put them in your freezer after delivery or in your fridge if you want to defrost them and use them within the next few days.

    Delivered Frozen

    To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.


    Sustainably Insulated

    We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.


  • You can cancel your order within two hours after your online purchase. We can not cancel an order after this period.

    We hope that you enjoy our products. But if for any reason you are unhappy, please let us know why within 28 days of delivery, by sending us the batch number and the reason why you are disappointed with the product. Do not throw the product away as we may need to recall it to confirm the problem.

    As your product is perishable, you will not be asked to return it for us for re-selling.

    When we have looked at the evidence, we will then consider reimbursing you by means of a credit for a future order or resending the product. We will do our very best to respond as quickly as possible and try to resolve it.

  • We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday and you will be able to choose your preferred delivery day at the checkout. The Standard delivery charge is £3.95(Monday-Friday) Postage is free if you spend £90. Saturday Delivery is £5.95 and free if you spend £110

  • Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.

    We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.

    It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.

  • All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.

If you're a purist, cook your mutton, rosemary and garlic burgers over a smoking hot griddle and enjoy them in a so-soft white bap with unfussy accompaniments. You'll really be able to savour the distinctive flavour of the mutton. If you want to step it up a notch, crumble some soft goats cheese over your burger and add some sliced red grapes. It might sound a bit bonkers, but the freshness of the grapes really cuts through the richness of the burger and the cheese. Sweet potato fries sprinkled with smoky paprika are the perfect partner.
