Meaty ribeye steaks that give beef a run for its money
Characterful, tender and deeply flavoured – those are the characteristics you can expect from an organic pork rib eye steak. It's cut from the fore-rib of the pork carcass, below the loin, meaning it has definition, robust grain and satisfying bite. The flavour has that indefinably delicate but distinctive quality you get from a beautifully roasted pork joint. The muscles of the steak are marbled and topped with sweet fat that will melt away on cooking, keeping the meat juicy and tasty. Coming, as they do, from pigs reared in an organic system, Coombe Farm Organic’s pork rib eye steaks have exceptional depth of flavour that works well alongside both fresh and light or punchier accompaniments.
Healthy animals with plenty of well-developed muscle are the key to really fantastic meat. Pigs that live indoors throughout their lives don't have the opportunity to run in sociable groups the way free-range animals do. We think that's a welfare problem and not the way to rear the best meat. All Coombe Farm Organic pigs are born and reared in a healthy outdoor environment, with access to plenty of room in a pig ark if they need shelter from the elements. The piglets get plenty of exercise and build up strength by playing boisterously. They also have the chance to wallow, rootle and get up to mischief as their instincts dictate.

Your delivery box is made of 100% recycled paper and is 100% recyclable.
To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.
We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.

Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.
You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

Simplicity is the way to go when cooking your pork rib-eye steak – you can fry, griddle, grill, oven roast or barbecue. If you want to get fancy that can come from sauces glazes, seasoning, rubs and accompaniments. For years we’ve been told to cook pork to within an inch of its life and avoid, at all costs, any suggestion of pinkness. We don’t agree that this is necessary and it doesn’t get the best out of your meat. In fact, it’s overcooking that leads to the chewiness that many people associate with pork. Heat a griddle pan until it’s very hot. Lightly oil and season both sides of the steak. Sizzle over a high heat until you have satisfying bar scorches on the outside and the inside is blushing ever so very slightly pink and still juicy. Rest the steaks, wrapped in foil, for 5 minutes before serving.
