A succulent, full-flavoured joint of meat for a classic roast dinner
A real roast beef classic, the organic topside joint is equally at home quickly roasted and served pink as it is when slow-cooked and succulent. The topside is the external muscle at the top of the hind leg of the beef carcass which is also where our organic beef everyday steak comes from. It's a muscle that's seen some hard work and this is reflected in the open texture and rich flavour of the meat. Very delicate marbling keeps the meat moist and we wrap an extra layer of fat on top to ensure you get the very best results from your topside. See Our How to Cook Page
At Coombe Farm Organic our beef comes from cross-bred animals with a Friesian dairy cow as mother and either a Simmental, Limousin or Shorthorn bull as father. This cross breeding results in animals with good meat distribution across the carcass and consistent quality in all the cuts. Our organic farming system ensures our animals live as naturally as possible. Our cattle are free range and grass fed – we don't stuff them with cereal concentrates to make them grow abnormally quickly – and we think you'll be able to taste this in their meat. The superior quality of a traditional cut like our organic topside joint really shines through.

At Coombe Farm we believe in sustainability. And we live it. Regarding our packaging:
Your delivery box is made of 100% recycled paper and is 100% recyclable.
To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.
We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.
We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday and you will be able to choose your preferred delivery day at checkout. The delivery charge is £3.95.
Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.
You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

To make the most of the flavour of your topside, roast it in a 220˚C oven for 15 minutes, then cover with foil, turn down the temperature and roast for a further hour and a half, removing the foil for the last 15 minutes. Let the meat rest for at least 15 minutes before carving. It'll be juicily pink and luscious in the middle – perfect served hot or cold. Alternatively, casserole the joint in red wine and beef stock with some shallots for 3 hours before serving with creamy mash and crisp green cabbage.
Nicely rolled we actually swapped topside for sirloin in the end as topside a bit too sanguine
Seemed to take a long time to cook to medium

I love the products. The only issue I found was that the chicken liver packages came partly opened. I think that needs to be checked out.
Ordering process and the steak all fine as per myself or my family. Only thing is the delivery company didn’t update the delivery info appropriate as the photo they sent to me after the box being delivered was not my family house door photo at all and that box in the wrong photo (the ink on the box seems fake out too, maybe due to the ice packs and made it wet?) So I think this is something should revise in a better way. Thanks
