At Coombe Farm Organic, we source our salmon from a highly reputed Northern Ireland fishery. The fish are bred and reared in the cold, clean waters of the Irish Sea, off the shores of Antrim. They swim against fast-flowing coastal tides, meaning they're strong and muscular. Our partner company is the only producer of organic salmon in the Irish Sea, working to exceptionally high standards of welfare and sustainability.

Product FAQs

  • We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday and you will be able to choose your preferred delivery day at the checkout. The delivery charge is £3.95.

  • Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.

Fisheries catch fillet and freeze all sustainable and organic fish before it arrives to us by blast freezing. It’s done at the point of the fishmongers filleting the fish, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.

It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh fish would be much more challenging.

  • Sustainability is a key concept when it comes to choosing the fish that you eat. It's measured in three ways. Firstly, the number of fish taken from the sea must leave behind a healthy, productive population that can reproduce quickly enough to support the levels at which they're fished. Secondly, environmental impact on habitats, ecosystems and other species must be minimised. And thirdly, fisheries must be well managed, be humane and be able to adapt to environmental changes. At Coombe Farm Organic, we work with fishing partners who fish to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standards with a responsible attitude that reflects our organic farming ethos.

    Can't Find the Answer?

If you cannot find the answer to your question and would like to speak to someone contact us and we will be happy to help.

An organic side of salmon is such a beautiful piece of fish, it's best cooked and served simply, to let its natural flavour and character take centre stage. Grill or oven bake your fish until it's still slightly translucent at its thickest part, then let it rest wrapped in foil for a further 10 minutes or so. This will allow it to finish cooking in its residual heat, without losing any moisture or tenderness. Serve with a vinaigrette-dressed potato salad, crisp lettuce leaves and lemony mayonnaise for a very simple, summery lunch. Or create a visually stunning make-ahead starter by curing your side of organic salmon with grated beetroot, sea salt and plenty of dill.
