Organic Cooked Beef Silverside

Roast beef made super simple- sous vide cooked for you

Whether you're serving up a weekday supper or sitting down to Sunday lunch, our organic cooked pot roast beef will have your mouth watering. Pot roasting is a simple, homely technique particularly beloved of Americans. Beef brisket is the most common main ingredient, but we've gone for our organic silverside instead. This is a lean cut from the top of the back leg of the beef carcass. It has bags of flavour and an open-grained texture that makes it perfect for slow roasting in a rich gravy. Because we appreciate that you don't always have time to wait for the slowest of slow cooks, we've done that bit for you. Which means pot roast on a Tuesday night? Coming right up!

It's in the slow-cooking cuts like silverside, brisket or shin that the real quality of Coombe Farm Organic's beef shines through. These all include muscles that need time to mature, because with maturity comes depth of flavour and really robust texture. Animals that are fattened up quickly and slaughtered young don't have time to develop that character. In our organic system, cattle grow to at least 2 years. They roam freely in our West Country pastures, so they grow big and strong on a natural diet and with plenty of exercise. To make the most of our beef carcasses, we hang them on the bone for 3 weeks, assuring you of meat that's in peak condition.

Product FAQs

  • We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday. Delivery charges for weekday delivery are £3.95 and Saturday delivery £6.95. You can also select pre-12 delivery option which is at a higher rate of £6.95 for weekday delivery and £8.95 for Saturday. If you spend over £80 you will receive free weekday delivery. The cut off period to get your order the next day is 12pm any order placed after that time will be delivered after 2 days. For example if you order after 12pm on Tuesday you will receive your box on Thursday.

  • Our products are sent to our customers frozen because when we started the business we looked into convenience for our customers. We found that sending the produce frozen meant that they could order for instance a month’s worth of produce and could go into their freezer until they are ready to use it. It also meant that there was less risk to the meat whilst been delivered as fresh meat can be delicate and risky.

  • All of our meat is butchered in house. In December 2018 our in-house butcher was built which means that we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.

You will find all the ingredients on the relevant product pages.

  • We have a dedicated page which explains all the different cuts and where they come from. Find out more here

Remove the bag, pop your pot roast beef into a lidded casserole and heat through in an oven heated to 180°C. It'll take about 20 or so minutes to get piping hot. Serve with crisp roasties cooked in tallow or go rustic and mash up some swede, carrot and parsnips. A good dollop of horseradish on the side adds a dash of fiery zing and a glass of full-bodied Syrah.
