Organic Mutton Chops For satisfying suppers bursting with flavour
Organic Mutton Chops
For satisfying suppers bursting with flavour
Serve up an organic mutton chop for a weekday dinner and you'll be a very popular cook indeed. They're cut from the loin of the mutton carcass so they benefit from the juicy tenderness of the eye meat topped with a sweet layer of fat that renders down and crisps up as you cook it. As mutton comes from older sheep than lamb it has richer flavour and robust bite that make it really hearty and satisfying. These chops are quick to cook and need only simple accompaniments to bring out their best.
Slow-growth is a big part of our philosophy here at Coombe Farm Organic. Rather than rushing our animals up to weight with protein-heavy concentrated diets we let them grow at the rate nature intended, on a natural diet. For our sheep that means grass, be it fresh from the field during the summer or as hay and silage in the winter. The aged ewes from our breeding flock supply our mutton and they've spent their lives browsing our pastures, growing strong muscles and robust skeletons. It's the combination of nutritious grass and a long life that gives our mutton its distinctive, unmistakable flavour.

At Coombe Farm we believe in sustainability. And we live it. Regarding our packaging:
Your delivery box is made of 100% recycled paper and is 100% recyclable.
To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.
We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.
We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday and you will be able to choose your preferred delivery day at checkout. The delivery charge is £3.95.
Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.
You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

Sizzling your organic mutton chops to golden-brown perfection is the work of mere minutes. Get your griddle or frying pan to a smoking-hot temperature (with just a hint of oil) then, holding your chop with a pair of tongs, sear the fat until it starts to render down and crisp up. When you're happy that the fat is well on its way, cook each side of the chop for a couple of minutes so it's well browned on the outside but still blushing pink on the inside. There's no need for fancy sauces with this cut – served with buttery new potatoes and some crisp purple sprouting broccoli, this fast food at its very finest.

I love the products. The only issue I found was that the chicken liver packages came partly opened. I think that needs to be checked out.
Ordering process and the steak all fine as per myself or my family. Only thing is the delivery company didn’t update the delivery info appropriate as the photo they sent to me after the box being delivered was not my family house door photo at all and that box in the wrong photo (the ink on the box seems fake out too, maybe due to the ice packs and made it wet?) So I think this is something should revise in a better way. Thanks
