Fish Pies - A short cut to comfort-food heaven

It's certainly in the all-time top 10 of comfort foods, and there's no time of year when fish pie wouldn't be welcome. Which makes it a food hero, as far as we're concerned. With our luxurious fish pie mix we've made it easy for you to get creative with your recipe, with no messing about. It's a top-quality mixture of delicious white fish, including haddock, pollock, bass and bream. This gives you a range of subtly different flavours combined with beautiful flaky texture that holds its shape during cooking. How indulgent you want to go with the recipe is up to you.

As wild fish can't be certified as organic, at Coombe Farm Organic we make sure all of the fish we sell is sustainable and caught using best practises for welfare. The well-stocked waters around the West Country make fruitful fishing grounds for the day boats that head out from the Devon and Dorset coasts. A wide range of species are available, but we always make sure we're careful to choose those that are abundant and of an appropriate size. We avoid taking fish during their breeding seasons and the fishermen we work with seek to minimise the environmental impact of their activities.

For an easy but hearty weekday supper, combine your luxury fish pie mix with a cheesy white sauce, a dollop of mustard and a good handful of fresh chives and parsley. Top with creamy mash and serve with a mound of petit pois. To add extra luxe to the luxury, enrich your sauce with double cream and freshly grated parmesan and add prawns, smoked fish, salmon and hard-boiled eggs.
