All of the taste, none of the fuss, part of our sustainable fish range.
With succulent white meat as well as deeply flavoured brown meat, a single crab offers great versatility. For many of us, it's the taste of brown-bread sandwiches eaten at the seaside, but crab can also be the basis for elegant dishes with sophisticated flavours. However you choose to eat it, one thing's for sure: it's a bit of a performance getting the meat out. So save yourself the hassle with Coombe Farm Organic's dressed crab and enjoy delicious crab meat with none of the pernickety picking.
The crab's claws, legs and main body section yield the delicately flavoured, flaky white meat. Brown meat comes from the top shell cavity and is more richly flavoured, with a softer, grainier texture. The low-fat white meat is protein-rich, while the higher-fat brown contains those all-important omega-3 fatty acids.
At Coombe Farm Organic we only stock sustainable seafood. Our crabs are approved by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). The MSC is an independent non-profit organization which sets a standard for sustainable fishing - assuring seafood products that have come from well-managed and sustainable fisheries, ensuring healthy oceans and safeguarding seafood supplies for the future.

While wild seafood can't be classified as organic, we always make sure ours is seasonal and sustainable. At Coombe Farm Organic we source all of our shellfish from local Devon suppliers, and our crabs are cooked and dressed as soon as they're landed, so you can be assured of ultimate freshness. Our crabs are pot caught and hand-selected, making sure any under-sized specimens or egg-carrying females are returned alive to the sea, this follows the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standards.

At Coombe Farm we believe in sustainability. And we live it. Regarding our packaging:
Your delivery box is made of 100% recycled paper and is 100% recyclable.
To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.
We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.

Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
Fisheries catch fillet and freeze all sustainable and organic fish before it arrives to us by blast freezing. It’s done at the point of the fishmongers filleting the fish, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh fish would be much more challenging.
Sustainability is a key concept when it comes to choosing the fish that you eat. It's measured in three ways. Firstly, the number of fish taken from the sea must leave behind a healthy, productive population that can reproduce quickly enough to support the levels at which they're fished. Secondly, environmental impact on habitats, ecosystems and other species must be minimised. And thirdly, fisheries must be well managed, be humane and be able to adapt to environmental changes. At Coombe Farm Organic, we work with fishing partners who fish to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standards with a responsible attitude that reflects our organic farming ethos.

For an easy but impressive supper, combine brown and white crabmeat with al dente linguine, a good squeeze of lemon juice and a generous handful of chopped parsley. The summery flavours are clean and simple but tasty and distinctive. Alternatively, whip up some mini crab cakes to serve as a light starter or canapé. A combination of hot red chilli, fiery ginger and earthy coriander brings out the sweetness of the crabmeat and works beautifully with chilled sparkling wine.

So happy to be able to buy turkey all year round. Searched the web to find a source and was very pleased to find you. The minced turkey we have tried so far was excellent. Many thanks for the quick service.
The chicken bone broth is amazing. I wish I could say the same for the other items I bought. I didn't enjoy the bacon. It actually tasted a bit off and I threw the rest away. The turkey mince is good, but very, very expensive. I know it is impossible to do any other when you buy food online, but the amount of packaging needed to transport the items through the post really does put me off ordering again. If only I lived closer.
Order handled efficiently and arrived on time. Packaging of a high standard plus contents well wrapped in frozen ice packets plus extra blanket to ensure freshness.
Order included beef biltong packets but only of limited size/weight. Suggestion: Increase weight range rather than overpaying for small quantities! Delicious none the less!
