Organic Lamb Rump - Wine and Dine

Treat yourself to an indulgent night in with our Wine and Dine offer

Encompassing all the essentials you need for a cosy night in with a loved one, our organic grass-fed lamb rump will help you achieve a sublime feast with ease. Lamb rump is an amazingly versatile cut that responds well to both fast and slow cooking, depending on your taste or mood. The generous covering of fat on the rump melts down when cooked and adds both sweetness and juiciness to the meat.

Pairing an expertly chosen wine can turn a good, hearty meal into an incredible one and our wine specialist has selected a soft, easy style that is perfect for lamb dishes. The Da Vero Biologico Red organic wine is a juicy red from the north western corner of Sicily. The palate combines perfumed strawberry notes with enticing cherry and blackberry; a burst of attractive ripe primary fruit.

  • 2 x 220g Organic Lamb Rumps
  • 1 x 75cl Bottle De Vero Biologico Organic Red Wine (Ambient)

What’s in the Box?

Our free-range lamb, fed on a pure grass diet and slowly grown to natural maturity has distinctive and characterful flavour.

Sicily’s warm, dry climate is ideal for organic cultivation and most vineyards already use very little spraying against diseases and pests. So the island is a great source of good, affordable organic wines. The Da Vero wines ('davvero' meaning ‘really’ or ‘naturally’ in Italian) are the result of a long relationship (over 10 years) with a cooperative in Sicily - who the producers have been working with since their Sicilian project began. They also happen to have the island's largest plantings of organic vines!

The Nero d'Avola grapes are sourced from the area around Salemi (Province of Trapani) in the north-west tip of Sicily. The vines are Guyot-trained, and grown at around 250m altitude on a combination of soil types. The vineyards were converted to organic viticulture in 2007.

Da Vero Biologico Red, IGT Terre Siciliane organic wine has ripe aromas of black fruit and a hint of spice. The palate is full with rich plum and bramble fruit characters, and plump tannins.

  • Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.

We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.

It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.

  • All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.

You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.
