Natural Beef Dripping / Tallow
Generations of tradition can’t be wrong- part of our offal range
Before olive oil stole the show and we were told animal fats were bad for us, natural products like pure beef tallow were vital for frying, roasting and basting. Though they feel out of favour for a long time, natural animals fats are enjoying something of a renaissance these days. At Coombe Farm Organic our beef dripping is a pure and unadulterated form of fat, packed with flavour. It's also perfect for anyone following a paleo diet. Just think about deliciously crispy roast potatoes cooked in beef dripping, garlic and rosemary.

At Coombe Farm, we rear our organic beef cattle to the highest soil association welfare standards and we believe that every part of the animal should be used. This includes the fats. Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
-
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.
You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

Can't Find the Answer?
If you cannot find the answer to your question and would like to speak to someone contact us and we will be happy to help.
In the old days, when times were tight, it was beef dripping on toast that kept the family nourished. These days few of us enjoy it like that – but there's no reason why not! An excellent all-round cooking fat, beef dripping is ideal for frying at high temperatures and makes quite the most amazingly tasty and crispy chips. It's also fantastic for roasting root vegetables – adding a subtle but distinctively nutty flavour. Or why not use it as a butter substitute when pan-frying steaks? Basting your steak with organic beef dripping as you fry it in a super-hot pan creates the perfect fusion of flavours and gives your meat a crispier-than-crisp crust around a juicy, pink middle.

Love this! I use it for most of my cooking and I also use it to get my one of pets to have his daily medicine. In short, we couldn’t be without it and I’m happy to have found an organic source. Fantastic product although expensive compared to Britannia Beef dripping which is priced at 80p/500g. Happy to pay more for the guarantee that the product is from grass fed stock and the fat is not hydrogenated, but still a bit on the pricey...
