Organic Pork Sausages [Gluten Free]
Versatile, easy to cook and really delicious – a winner at any time of the day
Whether you're waking up to the sizzle of Sunday morning breakfast, or getting creative with some al fresco grilling, our farmhouse pork sausages will take centre stage. They're meaty and satisfying, full of hearty porky flavour and made with only good stuff. Our recipe is simple and lets the quality of Coombe Farm Organic free-range pork shine through. You'll always get at least 85% organic pork mince and our special blend of herbs and spices. We add sage (because it's best friends with pork), coupled with a pinch of exotic nutmeg to round the flavour out.
You might wonder why we add a little potato starch to our sausages. Isn't that just filler so we can put less meat in our sausages? Definitely not. When we make our pork mince we balance lean meat with just the right amount of fat. The fat adds flavour and succulence to the finished sausage. But we don't want to see it just running away into the grill pan. So we add potato starch that soak it up, keeping it inside the natural casing for a super-juicy, flavour-packed sausage.
Ingredients: organic pork (85%), organic potato starch, *sea salt, organic white pepper, ascorbic acid E300, organic black pepper, organic ginger, organic sage, organic nutmeg, organic thyme, organic sugar, organic cayenne, organic rosemary extract, water. Filled into a natural *hog casing

Absolutely! All of our meat at Coombe Farm Organic is Organic. Our pigs live outdoors which is vital for their wellbeing, but it’s also vital for the production of top-quality pork. Muscles that have had plenty of active exercise produce flavoursome meat with great texture. And the thick skins that the pigs develop to withstand chilly weather translate into excellent crackling. In industrial systems, pigs are routinely given antibiotics to fend off diseases that are spread due to the high density of the population. This never happens with our organic, outdoor pigs – their lifestyle gives them effective natural immune systems.
Gluten free food products can be more expensive in comparison to ‘normal’ food products because the demand for GF products is far smaller than that of its ‘normal’ food alternatives, which are produced for the mass market, in extremely high volumes. This niche market therefore demands a higher price due to the complexity of production processes and smaller market.

Your delivery box is made of 100% recycled paper and is 100% recyclable.
To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.
We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.

Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.

For a speedy supper that will keep everyone happy, whip up a satisfying toad in the hole. Simply brown your sausages, beat together a Yorkshire pud batter of flour, egg and milk then put your sausages in a baking tray with hot oil and pour over the batter. Cook in a hot oven until the batter is puffed up and crispy, and serve with rich onion, buttery greens and a spot of hot English mustard.
