Organic Chicken Legs

Versatile and really meaty – perfect for a mini roast

Including both the chicken thigh and chicken drumstick, Coombe Farm Organic chicken legs are a great way to enjoy the taste of our delicious free-range chicken without having to roast a whole bird. This is a substantial cut that's really meaty and flavoursome. Cooking the leg with the bone in and skin on ensures the meat stays moist and delicious. The added bonus is, of course, the crackling crispy skin – the ultimate cook's treat.

We believe free range and organic is the only way to rear chickens. Animal welfare is central to our philosophy so our birds live active, outdoor lifestyles with freedom to behave as chickens should. The liberty to peck, graze, scratch, flap and run means our birds live happily together with the minimum of stress. Exercise is good for the birds and it also means the meat they produce has character and distinctive texture.

Product FAQs

  • We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday and you will be able to choose your preferred delivery day at checkout. The delivery charge is £3.95.

  • Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.

We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.

It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.

  • The poultry we sell has been organically reared they are free-range in smaller flocks than other birds, when the animal is ready it is slaughtered and butchered on the farm it was reared on so not to overstress the birds.

You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

    Can't Find the Answer?

If you cannot find the answer to your question and would like to speak to someone contact us and we will be happy to help.

Roasting whole organic chicken legs is ideal if you're cooking for one or two. Dry the skin and season it well before roasting in a medium hot oven for 45 minutes or so, until the juices in the thigh run clear. Let the meat rest for about 15 minutes before serving with classic creamy bread sauce, crispy roast potatoes and seasonal greens. To add some extra flavour before roasting, marinate the legs overnight in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, Dijon mustard, runny honey and parsley. The brown meat of organic chicken legs is also delicious with punchy North African or Middle Eastern flavours – rubbing the skin with Baharat spice mix before roasting brings aromatic warmth and a little twist of the exotic.
