An old favourite, as you might not have seen it before
It might not be fancy, but beef brisket is a long-standing favourite for a number of reasons. Not only is it packed with great flavour; it has fantastic texture, goes a long way and represents tremendous value for money. You'll likely know it as a rolled joint, but with our organic flat brisket, we've done something a bit different. The brisket is cut from between the front legs on the chest of the beef carcass. It's a hard-working muscle that has well-defined grain and lots of bite. The long, flat cut is boneless. It's known as a pot roast classic and works well with strong spices and smoky flavours. We've left it flat for versatility, so you can decide how you want to cook with this tasty cut. Fancy a recipe look here.
It's in joints like the brisket that the real character of Coombe Farm organic beef shines through. We believe in running a system that focuses on good husbandry and the well being of our stock, from birth through to slaughter. All of our animals travel in small groups a short distance to a local abattoir where welfare standards match our own. Once slaughtered, we hang our beef carcasses for three weeks to ensure the meat is in peak condition before it's butchered and sent to you.

At Coombe Farm we believe in sustainability. And we live it. Regarding our packaging:
Your delivery box is made of 100% recycled paper and is 100% recyclable.
To keep your order frozen we use ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or simply snip, empty the water and pop in your plastic recycling.
We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.
We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday and you will be able to choose your preferred delivery day at checkout. The delivery charge is £3.95.
Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.
You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

Organic flat brisket can be cured and smoked to make pastrami or corned beef, or you can go old school and pot roast it for meltingly soft meat. For a different take on a classic, have a go at cooking it fast-and-hot over the barbecue. Searing the outside so it crisps and chars while the inside stays pink and juicy results in delicious smoky flavours and contrasting textures. Have a chilled local ale on hand to wash it down.

I've always steered away from brisket since I had some in Spain once from an English butcher. It was quite tough even though I had cooked in our slow cooker because they say it needs long slow cooking. Well this brisket was altogether different....I've always steered away from brisket since I had some in Spain once from an English butcher. It was quite tough even though I had cooked in our slow cooker because they say it needs long slow cooking. Well this brisket was altogether different. After slow cooking it all day it easily pulled apart into strings exactly like describe on Coombe Farm's website. I find it quite tasty.

Very good, nice slow cook. But as I hadn't heard of flat brisket didn't realise it would probably lend itself to pastrami - mmmmm my favourite!Very good, nice slow cook. But as I hadn't heard of flat brisket didn't realise it would probably lend itself to pastrami - mmmmm my favourite!

Love Coombe Farm Organics Bone Broth.
Use it in my soups, gravy, sauces - adds so much flavour as well as being good for you. Has become a staple in my kitchen. Love it!
Great fast delivery too.
Goat neck mixed with diced goat meat made a wonderful curry; slow cooked, lots of spices, brown chick peas and lentils wonderful. Friends who had never had goat said they would now buy it; said it was best curry they had ever had! Couldn't get goat from local butchers and so good to know meat is sustainably raised, low fat and good quality. Thank you.
