Organic Beef Biltong
A moreish and versatile delicacy - part of our cooked range
An immensely popular snack in its native South Africa, beef biltong is rapidly gaining traction as a British favourite, too. Dried, then cured with salt and spices, biltong has some similarity to beef jerky. Like all cured meats, it came about from the necessity to preserve food in times before refrigeration. A happy side effect of the curing process is that cured meat retains its nutritional value.
Don't forget to try our other flavours – organic beef barbecue biltong and organic beef teriyaki biltong. If you don't need to stock up your freezers with our organic meat but your cupboards are looking bare then you can just purchase Organic Biltong on our Coombe Farm Organic Biltong website.
- 45g, Serves 1
Coombe Farm Organic beef biltong follows the South African tradition of enhancing the curing salts with spices to impart flavour and enliven the natural taste of the meat. Our special organic spice mix includes coriander, black pepper, nutmeg, cloves and chilli for an aromatic flavour with just a hint of heat. While most meats can be made into biltong, we like to keep it simple with beef, using our organic silverside to make this tasty snack.
If you haven't tried it before, you may be surprised by the versatility of biltong. As well as being ideal for filling a gap between meals or pepping up a lunchbox, it's tasty and sophisticated enough to be eaten as a nibble with drinks or to appear as an unusual element on a charcuterie platter. The rich, saltiness of biltong also makes it a happy partner on a deli board to creamy cheeses and bitter olives or as a background seasoning in stews and casseroles.
Ingredients: Organic beef silverside, Garlic, Cloves, Chilli, Coriander, Black pepper, Nutmeg, Sea salt, Apple cider vinegar, Brown sugar

Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.
We use blast freezing to preserve all of our meat products. It’s done at the point of butchery, to temperatures of -26°C. This locks in all the freshness, flavour and nutritional value and means you get the longest possible shelf life at home once you’ve defrosted it.
It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.
-
All of our meat is butchered in our in-house butchery by our small team. This means we have full control of what is cut and also means that we can accommodate more requests from our customers.
You will find any product ingredients on the relevant product pages.

High quality protein. It’s so nice to nibble on some Beef Biltong while on break at work. I think it needs a little bit more salt, but that’s just my opinion. Will buy again. High quality protein. Nice and fresh tasting in sealed packet- lean and plain beef version was chosen. However, the range should be extended to above 45g In weight to make the price more competitive and to give purchasers more options. Very good but quite peppery so may not suit everyone. First tasted biltong in the 70's in Southern Africa and then made it ourselves in the 90's! This biltong does not disappoint.
