Organic Stuffed Turkey Crown

This boneless joint is packed with our new recipe stuffing and is a doddle to carve.

This product is available for collection or delivery from the 15th December.

Our butchers have prepared a ready to go, easy carve and no-fuss centerpiece so you can spend less hours in the kitchen and more time with your loved ones. The organic turkey crown is stuffed with our delicious new-recipe sausage meat stuffing and coated in organic nitrate-free bacon too for maximum flavour. At Coombe Farm Organic all of our turkeys are Bronze birds. This is an old-fashioned breed that almost fell into extinction when white turkeys were chosen for intensive farming. Once slaughtered, our birds are dry plucked and waxed to make sure there are no pesky feathers left behind. The carcasses are then hung in a temperature-controlled environment for at least 7 days, meaning the bird you receive will be in tip-top condition, tender as can be and packed with flavour.

Although trends have changed throughout the ages, a roast turkey dinner is considered the traditional feast on Christmas day. With so many alternative dishes available, including meat, fish, and vegetarian options, you may have wondered why people eat turkey at Christmas. There is evidence that turkey was served to King Henry VIII, however a more modern theory is the rising popularity of turkey in the 1950s can be explained by people wanting to feast on a big bird after the privations of meat rationing during and after the second world war.

  • Freezing is the most natural way of preserving food. And as here at Coombe Farm Organic we believe in slow-grown, healthy food, a form of preservation that doesn’t need artificial additives gets a big tick from us.

It also guarantees it will arrive with you in tiptop condition - confidently delivering fresh meat would be much more challenging.

  • The poultry we sell has been organically reared they are free-range in smaller flocks than other birds, when the animal is ready it is slaughtered and butchered on the farm it was reared on so not to overstress the birds.

    Can't Find the Answer?

If you cannot find the answer to your question and would like to speak to someone contact us and we will be happy to help.

Because our birds are slow grown and the carcasses have been hung, they'll take less time to cook than an intensively reared bird. And you'll see no shrinkage in the oven as they're not full of excess moisture. You can cook your stuffed turkey crown exactly as you would a whole bird. Plan for 30 minutes cooking time per kilo, but test by sticking a skewer in the thickest part of the breast. As soon as the juices run clear, remove from the oven and wrap the crown well, letting it rest for at least half an hour before carving.

Ingredients: Turkey (72%), Stuffing (20%) (Pork, Gluten-Free Oats, Water*, Lemon Juice, Parsley, Thyme (0.7%), Salt*, Garlic Powder, Sage, Cayenne, Ground Nutmeg, Black Pepper), Streaky Bacon (Pork, Sugar, Salt*).
