The aroma of spices, the sizzle of goose fat and the mouthwatering sight of the bird being carved just can't be beaten. Kick off the festivities with a Christmas Eve feast featuring perfectly pink goose breast and keep the party going on Boxing Day with a hearty topside of beef. There aren’t many excuses during the year for a real knock-your-socks-off banquet. So, at Christmas, the boat deserves to be properly pushed out.

We don’t really call meals ‘feasts’ any more. Imagine an indulgent feast and Henry VIII is inevitably sitting at the head of the table. But at Christmas, things are different. We have collective permission to go all out, take our time, be ambitious if we feel the need, and even get a bit show-offy.
